The remodeling of American Education right down to its foundation
timbers.
The use and application of technology in American education is
currently aimless experimentation, that, rather than being progress, is a
tampering with the classroom and thereby introduces more variation rather
than more control. The technically savvy educators of our new paradigm
have clear understandings of purposeful use of the machine.
Students of our current classrooms either develop learning skills and
needed cognitive dispositions by chance, or not at all. Our new paradigm
places major emphasis on training students in the craft of being a
student. |

Message to Mission Leaders:
If we do not know what results we expect in terms of quality or
quantity, then our efforts are aimless. If we do not have a realistic
approximation of the full extent of the challenge regarding the assignment
before us, our efforts are aimless. If we cannot itemize all the issues
that will affect success or failure, our efforts are aimless. If we cannot
assess which obstacles are greater and which are smaller, our efforts are
aimless. If we cannot secure some measure of control over the forces that
impact success or failure relative to our assignment, our efforts are
aimless. If we cannot measure our progress, our efforts are aimless.
